As much as we love making ultra-authentic Arak that pays homage to our unique distilling heritage, we also enjoy experimenting with new methods and ingredients. It entertains our curiosity, helps us continue to hone our craft, and provides Arak enthusiasts with new sensory experiences.
In celebration of our fifth anniversary, throughout 2022, we will be releasing limited edition bottles of Arak Muaddi in extremely small batches. We’re excited for our patrons to join us in this exploration of new aromas and flavors.
Arak Muaddi Black:
Our first limited release is Arak Muaddi Black, which brings wonderfully rich and flavorful elements never-before-seen in Arak.
It’s made just like Arak Muaddi, but is aged with handmade, toasted Palestinian Oak staves to infuse notes traditionally associated with cognac and whiskey into the Arak.
In fact, Arak Muaddi Black is the first and only spirit in the world to use Palestinian Oak, which we discovered is much more dense and subsequently flavorful than American, French or Hungarian Oak.
Drinkers will discern notes of vanilla, caramel and almond – that, when combined with anise, produce a refreshingly creamy flavor.
“Historically, Palestine was the epicenter of world civilization. It has always been a place where East meets West and functioned as a melting pot of different cultures,” says Nader Muaddi, distiller. “Arak Muaddi Black, keeps this element of our history alive by bringing the Western tradition of oak-aged spirits to the birthplace of distilled spirits, and does so in a uniquely Palestinian fashion.”
